About EMERGE

What is EMERGE?

EMERGE is a healthcare platform designed to help clinics manage their operations in one unified system. It brings together scheduling, patient communication, documentation, virtual care and administrative workflows so healthcare teams can focus more on delivering care and less on managing disconnected tools.

Where is EMERGE based?

EMERGE is headquartered in Toronto, Canada. The platform is built specifically for Canadian healthcare providers while remaining adaptable to organizations in other regions.

When was EMERGE created?

EMERGE was founded in 2016 and officially launched its platform in 2021 after several years of development and collaboration with healthcare professionals.

Is EMERGE easy to use?

Yes. EMERGE was designed to be intuitive for clinicians, administrative teams and patients, with clear workflows and simple navigation so clinics can adopt it quickly with minimal training.

For healthcare providers

I run a clinic. How can EMERGE help my practice?

EMERGE brings key workflows into one platform: scheduling, patient communication, documentation, billing and virtual visits. This reduces administrative workload and lets healthcare teams spend more time on patient care.

Why is it important to choose a verified virtual care provider?

Ontario Health verification means a virtual visit solution has been assessed against provincial privacy, security and technical requirements. EMERGE is an Ontario Health verified virtual visit solution.

Is there a cost for clinics?

EMERGE offers flexible plans for clinics of different sizes. See pricing →

Is technical support available?

Yes. Dedicated support through phone, chat and email, for onboarding, troubleshooting and ongoing use.

How do I get started?

Contact our team or book a demo. We will walk you through the platform and how it can support your clinic’s workflow.

For patients

Is it free for patients?

Yes. Download the app to find nearby clinics and providers, and request in-person or virtual appointments directly. No membership required.

Do I have to download anything?

No. EMERGE is accessible through your web browser. There is also a mobile app for managing appointments and health information on the go.

What equipment do I need?

A device with internet access, such as a computer, tablet or smartphone. For virtual visits, a camera and microphone are recommended.

How do I prepare for a virtual appointment?

Install the EMERGE App and sign in with the email your provider used to invite you. Find a private, quiet, well-lit place with a strong connection (not while driving or in a public space). Allow camera, microphone and notifications for the app. Have your device charged with sound on, and bring your medical history, medications and top questions. You will get email reminders, and a push notification when the provider starts the call.

What information is stored on EMERGE?

Your profile can include your name, phone number, email, OHIP number and date of birth if you wish. The minimum is your name and contact information. Your healthcare provider controls your clinical record. EMERGE securely processes and stores it on their behalf.

I have a mobility issue. How can EMERGE help?

EMERGE was developed with accessibility in mind. Find a nearby clinic that offers virtual care or is wheelchair accessible, or one that speaks your language.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, go to Profile, then My Profile, and choose Delete Account. Or email support@getemerge.ca. Your account is closed and your account information is deleted in line with our Privacy Policy. Clinical records created by your healthcare providers stay with those providers, who are legally required to retain them, and some security and backup records are kept for a limited period.

Who can I contact about my privacy?

Email our Privacy Officer at privacy@getemerge.ca.
